While kindergarten will be the same familiar place it has always been, there will be some things we all need to keep on doing to keep everybody safe, and there are some new measures in place such as contact tracing. We’ve had five kindergartens open in recent weeks during level 3, so we’ve learned a lot and we’re confident that we’re doing everything we possibly can to keep our staff and tamariki safe including checking on their wellbeing. Our hygiene processes are already extremely stringent, but Kidsfirst - and our teachers - will be even more vigilant than ever. Regular cleaning will happen throughout the day – particularly those high-touch points, and our teaching teams will be watching out for any signs of sickness and sending tamariki and staff home the minute they spot any symptoms. Our heightened focus on handwashing and drying, coughing and sneezing hygiene will continue. And it’s more important than ever that tamariki don’t come to kindergarten if they are showing any signs of sickness – and that includes runny noses.
Just two other things to know:
Please ensure your child brings their own containers for any food and drink from home, and is encouraged not to give or take food from one another. As always, our teaching teams will be watching carefully and monitoring kai time.
If you are not returning to your booked days at this time, please let us know so that we can keep in regular touch with you to provide the support that you may be needing in order for your child to return to kindergarten.
